Vietnam Int’l Fashion Week slated for December
An international fashion week co-hosted by HCMC-based Multimedia JSC and Singapore-based FIDé Fashion Weeks will take place this December in HCMC.
The information was unveiled at a press conference to announce the fashion week and a signing ceremony between the two partners on Sunday in HCMC’s District 1. The fashion week will be supported by the Asian Couture Federation (ACF), which was inaugurated last year, and Atelier Chardon Savard, Paris, one of world’s leading fashion schools.

Le Thi Quynh Trang, CEO of MultiMedia who has produced many seasons of Vietnam’s Next Top Model and Project Runway, said: “During the time making those fashion-related programs, I have been impressed by local young designers’ talents and creativity. I believe Vietnam is able to contribute to the world’s fashion industry thanks to our fashion talents. Vietnam International Fashion Week is a good opportunity to introduce outstanding local designers and others in Asia and around the world.”
According to Frank Cintamani, founder of the ACF and chairman of FIDé Fashion Weeks, the upcoming fashion week in Vietnam will feature around 20 international designers in 20 fashion shows with international standards. Other highlights are seminars and exchanges between designers and experts.
“We see this as an opportunity to promote leading Vietnamese fashion designers to a broader audience both regionally and globally. Vietnam has emerged as one of the most exciting and dynamic countries in Asia and we are delighted to have this opportunity to develop and promote its fashion industry and talent further,” said Frank Cintamani at the event.
“The combination of the very best Vietnamese talent alongside that from Asia and internationally will be a key milestone in Vietnam’s position on the world stage for fashion,” he added.
More information on local designers who are chosen to the event and the show’s concept and format will be updated in next meetings in September, October and December.
Especially, at the press briefing on Sunday the ACF recognized its latest member, local veteran designer Nguyen Cong Tri as Couturier Extraordinaire for his great contribution to local fashion industry for the past ten years. Previously, Le Thi Quynh Trang from MultiMedia was acknowledged as Governor of the ACF and was the first Vietnamese member of the federation.
FIDé Fashion Weeks has been the leading force behind some of the most exclusive fashion weeks in Asia.
